More than 190m³ of Medite Premier and Medite FR MDF have been used in the new Civil Justice Centre in Manchester, the biggest court complex to be built in the UK since the Royal Courts of Justice in London in the 1870s.

Around 3,100 sheets (185.6m³) of MDF Premier and 100 sheets (4.7m³) of Medite FR were required for the £8.5m fit-out.

The FSC-certified panel products helped to meet the brief for a sustainable building.

Subcontractor Mivan was responsible for the fit-out of the building’s 12 glazed and metal-clad pods, which house 28 meeting rooms, and the associated waiting rooms, and public and staff toilets. It manufactured and installed the joinery in 48 court rooms and installed more than 950 doorsets.
