The fifth Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE) conference is to focus on ensuring forest owners benefit from the biomass sector and that sustaianble forest management is compensated for its role in the quantity and quality of water.

The MCPFE conference, to take place from November 5-7 in Warsaw, Poland, will also address the mitigation of climate change, with a series of multi-stakeholder dialogue sessions intended to offer a forum for European ministers, NGOs and the forest industry to discuss these matters.

In addition, the third day of the conference is to include a field trip to see forest management schemes in Poland and is intended to generate discussions and ideas amongst delegates, according to MCPFE.
