JT Dove Ltd aims to expand its trade of Trus Joist (TJ) engineered products in the Scottish Borders and northern England following the appointment of its Berwick-upon-Tweed mill as a TJ Master Dealer.
JT Dove, established in 1869, said the appointment would help grow TJ business from a range of customers, including small to medium-sized housebuilders, in the borders, Northumberland and East Lothian.
The company has invested £40,000 in new stock and equipment at Berwick-upon-Tweed, including a purpose-made cutting bench. Vehicles have also been adapted to carry TJI joists.
Business development manager Eddie Burness said: “At the same time our Berwick-upon-Tweed operation will allow us to free-up production capacity for existing and new customers at Tyne Dock.”
The Tyne Dock mill at South Shields has been a Master Dealer for the past six years.
Both operations will service a geographical area covering East Lothian and the Scottish Borders, the north-east, Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
JT Dove also operates six builders merchant depots throughout northern England, including Auckland Timber and Builders Merchants in Bishop Auckland, an acquisition last year.
