FW Mason & Sons Ltd has received its 25th British Safety Council National Safety Award for achieving below average accident rates.

Representatives from the Nottingham company were presented with the award at a ceremony attended by almost 1,000 people in London.

To win an award, winners must have a lower than average safety record, stringent safety policies and board level commitment to health and safety. They must also demonstrate significant health and safety advances for the year and provide notification of any impending health and safety legal action.

Company chairman and managing director David Mason said: “Everyone at FW Mason & Sons Ltd is delighted and proud to have won the British Safety Council award for the 25th consecutive year. Working in a manufacturing operation like ours with many woodworking machines and mechanical handling equipment, we are constantly aware of the dangers and hazards of our work place.”
