Orders for Italian woodworking machinery fell 12.5% year-on-year during the second quarter, according to ACIMALL.
The Italian woodworking machinery and tools’ manufacturers’ association said domestic orders declined by 17% over the three months, with overseas demand down by 10.7%.
Those companies polled indicated the market is unlikely to improve during the third quarter, with 88% expecting stagnation or decline in the home-grown market and 97% predicting a similar situation for overseas business.
Other results from the Acimall quarterly study found prices went up by 2.3% in the first six months, building on the 1.5% increase in the first quarter, and the majority of sample firms indicated a stationary market for production, stocks and employment.
