The first batch of Finnforest staff to take the company’s ‘management skills foundation programme’ has come through the gruelling year-long course.

The eight employees undertook a range of courses to complete the programme, which could lead to a BTEC management studies qualification. Subjects included managing resources, communications, interviewing and ‘developing individuals and teams’. They also had to complete a 10,000 word business related report and present it to Finnforest UK managing director John Tong and other board members.

The employees were awarded their certificates at a ceremony at Finnforest’s Boston site by Mr Tong, who said that the ‘real success of the programme will become apparent’ as they put their training into practice in their work. The event was attended by Ashley Wood of the Meridian consultancy which oversaw the training.
