Timber company shares are improving on the Malaysian stock market following a recovery in log prices.
Analysts say the increasing prices, due to a log supply shortage rather than extra demand, should have a beneficial impact on timber company earnings by the next quarter.
A recent memorandum of understanding signed between Malaysia and Indonesia to curb illegal logging in the latter country is also expected to help timber prices.
