Malaysian maritime police have seized M$250,000-worth of timber in a swoop on smugglers.
Three boats attempting to bring timber in from Dumai, Indonesia were intercepted and eight Indonesian nationals were arrested during the seizure – the biggest since police launched “Ops Banteras” on October 19.
Timber confiscated included bitangor and meranti, which are now in the hands of customs.
