More than 50 first year design students at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College, took part in a competition sponsored by Weyerhaeuser Europe.
The brief was to create a performance stage for a musical trio which could be sited in a number of well-known locations and could be folded away when not in use.
Before embarking on the project the students were given a ‘teach-in’ on the material to be used – Medite MDF – by Weyerhaeuser’s southern sales executive, Rob Cushen.
