A tight grained mahogany without sapwood was hand picked by Arnold Laver Timber World’s Bradford depot for craftsmen recreating an original Chippendale design for a customer in the US.
It took cabinetmaker Shaw & Riley and Dick Reid Carvers more than four months to make 16 chairs, which are copies of a Chippendale carver housed at Temple Newsome House, Leeds.
