Haldane Fisher has strengthened its position as Northern Ireland’s largest timber and builders merchant with the acquisition of Belfast-based Trevor Lusty Ltd.

The private purchase for an undisclosed sum – from managing director and owner Trevor Lusty – brings Haldane Fisher Lusty’s £3m turnover and its 30 employees based at two sites in Belfast at Ladas Drive and Balmoral Road.

The sites join Haldane Fisher’s seven merchanting businesses located at Belfast, Lisburn, Portadown, Bangor and Newry. The new combined business will have a turnover of £50m.

Group chairman and managing director Ian Haldane said that the purchase strengthened Haldane Fisher’s presence in Belfast.
