The company will invest in two new processing kilns for the factory in Soinlahti, Lisalmi. The kilns, to be supplied by Jartek Oy, will be commissioned by November.
The Lunawood product is distributed in 29 countries, including the UK via MBM Specialty Forest Products Ltd. The additional volumes will be sold in Finland and central Europe.
The Russian and Asian markets will also be targeted in the future. Lunawood CEO Arto Halonen said the expansion would also allow the company to benefit from an earlier planing investment.
He said Lunawood’s aim was to focus on exterior cladding, decking and interior design products, where consumers were demanding green products involving no chemicals.
Lunawood also operates a factory at Joensuu.
