Nearly 100 long span timber trussed rafters have been designed and manufactured by Truss Form Midlands for a commercial office development – Riverside Two – in Stoke-on-Trent.

The company, a member of the Trussed Rafter Association, said the use of long spans over 11m, such as in this project, was becoming an increasingly popular trend.

Truss Form fabricated more than 30 trussed rafters for the roofs of three office blocks, plus special units for the hipped ends.

David Vokes of architectural practice Hulme Upright Manning, which worked on Riverside Two, said the buildings had been designed as business starter units and were an ideal size for the incorporation of trussed rafters.
