The Port of London enjoyed its biggest trade growth last year since 1998, with forest products traffic up by 1.9%.

The throughput of forest products was up 37,000 tonnes compared to 2003, while overall Port of London cargo handling grew by 2.3 million tonnes to 53.3 million tonnes.

The port consists of 70 independently-owned terminals, with Tilbury being the largest container port for timber and paper.
