A seminar on the Mersey Forest’s timber project, which is promoting the use of locally-grown wood in the north-west, attracted 62 delegates, including architects, end-users and timber growers.

Hosted in association with the Red Rose Forest, the seminar explained how a grant of £250,000 will be used by the Mersey Forest organisation to ‘create a local timber economy’ in the region.

The Mersey Forest, which is one of the UK’s 12 community forests (TTJ March 10), has also produced a timber business directory for the north-west, Root and Branch. For a free copy tel: 01925 816217.
