An international group has called on the national transitional government of Liberia to accelerate internal reforms to help end sanctions on the country’s timber exports.

The International Contact Group for Liberia (ICGL) says speedy reforms will ensure funds are used to benefit the country’s population.

During its seventh working session at the US state department in Washington, ICGL welcomed the World Bank‘s decision of a review to identify bottlenecks in the flow of resources pledged by the international communtity.

ICGL emphasised the need for transparency and accountability in funds managed by the transitional government.
