Doorset manufacturer Leaderflush Shapland has supplied 68 performance doorsets to the New Art Exchange building in Nottingham.
Architect Hawkins/Brown specified the doors in various colours and to meet 60 minutes fire resistance, 38RwdB sound reduction and “severe duty” mechanical strength.
EnduraCor – fire retardant facings and flaxboard – was used as the core construction to suit the high traffic public environment.
The building had already won RIBA and Civic Trust awards.
The New Art Exchange was founded in 2003 as a new organisation to steer and manage the development of Nottingham’s first dedicated cultural facility for black contemporary arts.
