Thirty-seven points – including an eagle – won Joe Lord of LR Lord & Son the TTJ Golf Challenge in France last week.

Around 30 players entered the competition held at Le Tronchet golf club, 25 miles from St Malo.

In second place was Gary Reid, a guest of Joe Lord, while third prize went to Frank Green of Caledonian Plywood.

Vivian Fordham, a customer of T Brewer & Co, won the ladies prize with 30 points, while the longest drive award went to David Sainsbury of Meades and nearest the pin was won by Matt Green of Euler Trade Indemnity.

After the contest the entrants went Christmas shopping in St Malo before boarding Brittany Ferries Bretagne to sail back to Portsmouth. The prize giving was held during a gala dinner on board.
