Timber and builders merchant Lawsons has bought Kent-based William Sharvatt & Son Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
Lawsons managing director Simon Lawson said the Sharvatt business will carry on as usual.
He added: “It is a good specialist timber distributor and we bought it with a view to expanding our operations in south London.”
Last year Lawsons bought Woolwich Timber Ltd and Mr Lawson said: “We are always looking for new operations.”
The Lawsons business is predominantly timber, but Mr Lawson added: “We are not specialists.”
