Lawcris Panel Products is planning further sales growth this year by capitalising on consolidation in the supermarket and pharmaceutical industries.
The Leeds-based company is targeting £32m sales in 2006, up from the £29m achieved in 2005.
Lawcris expects to benefit from a surge of refits linked to recent and impending major buyouts, such as the Morrisons/Safeway and Boots/Moss Pharmacy deals. “The scope for involvement by respected panel suppliers is huge,” it said.
Another hot tip for growth is melamine, which the company said was becoming increasingly popular in the domestic market and offices.
Melamine director Paul Nuthall said: “The enhanced quality of the printing process is providing the market place with a wider than ever choice of design possibilities. Real wood replication is becoming harder to detect and a high quality finish is providing a platform for bolder, retro patterns.”
The company saw a steady growth in its veneering business during 2005 and predicted further increases this year due to more manufacturers now outsourcing the veneering process.
Managing director Simon Hall said: “The market place is extremely aggressive at the moment and with margins getting tighter, companies with the greatest flexibility and the ability to diversify and adapt to change are in the strongest position to retain their market share and attract new customers.”
