Latvian state forestry management company Latvijas Valsts Mezi recorded revenues of Lts21.74m (€26m) for the first nine months of 2002.

The sale of growing trees accounted for the bulk of revenue, Lts20.97m, while sales from hunting grounds was Lts400,000. Sapling and seed sales were Lts60,000 and Lts27,000 respectively.

A total of 2.11 million m2 of live timber was sold during the period, a 2.4% increase on last year, with 26.8% sold at auctions and 62.2% bought by felling partners.
