James Latham plc is looking to open two new depots in east London to take over business from its Clapton site, which is planning to leave.

The sites, for which precise locations have yet to be finalised, will specialise in panel products and timber respectively and begin operating early next year.

Group executive chairman Roger Latham said: ‘The current area that the Clapton depot covers is to be cut in half by the two new east London sites.’

Latham is completing the move of its plywood and hardwood departments, head office and accounts out of Clapton to Hemel Hempstead this month.

The company is additionally opening new depots at Hemel Hempstead and Dudley in July. Dudley is to sell Latham’s full range while Hemel Hempstead is focusing of panel products.
