A review of skills needs and learning provision in the environmental and land-based sector led by sector skills council Lantra is underway.

The council is developing its own sector skills agreement which will enable it to work with government to develop learning provision within the industries it covers, meet business needs and give individuals the right skills for proficiency in their jobs.

Employers are being asked what their skills needs are now and in the future, and to suggest how these can be met.

The UK-wide initiative, to be backed by a marketing campaign, will take into account the differences between Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland plus the English regions.
