Kronospan‘s Menznau plant in Switzerland will dramatically increase laminating capacity after ordering its fifth short-cycle press from Siempelkamp.
The 2200x5700mm press is designed for 150 press cycles per hour, giving an annual output of 9.5 million m2 of laminated board. It can be used to finish not only thin HDF (6-8mm) for laminate flooring but also particleboard for furniture surfaces.
Construction work at Menznau will begin in March, with completion anticipated by July.
