The fast-changing pace of the world of fashion has prompted Kronospan Ltd to launch its own design forum.

Its says that its May Design Week will be a forum for the UK’s most influential furniture designers and it has enlisted the support of interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen to promote its products at the event.

Kronospan’s deputy managing director Joe Martoccia said: ‘The life cycle of colours and trends is getting shorter so we have to keep looking at new ideas and designs. We are conscious that this is a fashion business and we have got to put zip into product development.’

The event will feature all of Kronospan’s products plus affiliated items from paper printers, foil producers and vinyl edging manufacturers.

‘There is no future in this business if all we are going to do is slug it out with other manufacturers on price,’ said Mr Martoccia. We have to be creative and design-led and put our products on the catwalk.’
