Celebrity television designers will descend on Kronospan‘s Chirk site in April for a repeat of the company’s successful Design Week.

The April 1-3 event will be opened by Laura McCree, Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen and Linda Barker. Kronospan says it will be bigger and better than the first, held in 2001, and is a must for anybody wanting to view the latest innovations, designs and ideas in wood-based panels and associated products.

Kronospan’s entire range, from laminate flooring to worktops, will be showcased along with some products not seen before. Visitors can also vote on which new colours and designs, fresh from an airing at the ZOW show in Europe, should go into production.

Specially designed office, kitchen and bedroom sets will include items from the Kronospan Group, such as internal doors, solid worktops, OSB and compact laminate.

More than 20 suppliers, including paper printers and distributors of flooring accessories, will exhibit products which complement Kronospan’s range.

Daily workshops will be held and a virtual tour within a 1,400m2 marquee will chart the life of a piece of timber – from the forest to finished product. The winners of the Design Innovation prize at the ASFI show will also exhibit their winning designs.

Tony Meehan, Kronospan sales director, said: “Design Week provides a great opportunity for the industry to meet and share views in a friendly, intimate environment.”
