Simon Knox of Knox Bhavan completes the architects’ programme for TRADA’s In Touch with Timber conference in September.
He joins Roddy Langmuir of Edward Cullinan and Jim Greaves of Hopkins Architects to discuss the theme “Timber – the first choice for excellent design”. The designers will draw from their own award-winning projects to make the case for timber.
“A combination of materials is usually needed to achieve a good result, so we are not advocating timber-only buildings,” said TRADA membership &?marketing manager Rupert Scott. “However, we firmly believe that using timber as a major material on almost any project provides the greatest scope for truly outstanding design.”
He said the conference would continue to inspire “through case study examples of everything that is new and ground-breaking in timber”.
This year’s conference, part of the Timber Expo exhibition at Ricoh Arena in Coventry on September 27-28, comprises four, three-hour modules over two days.
