Delta Environmental installed Soler & Palau CKCT direct drive radial centrifugal fans to replace two ageing systems that required manual handling of bags containing waste.
The new system extracts waste wood from the woodworking machines using a 4-pole 11kW CKCT fan and conveys it to a filter. The waste is transported by a 2-pole 5.5kW fan to a sealed skip while the cleaned air is returned to the factory to save on heat loss,
Delta spokesman Bill Pidden said: "These fans are very quiet, which is an important factor for the workforce."
