Sixty-six people are to lose their jobs at United Sawmills Ltd‘s Seikku sawmill.
The redundancies relate to an ongoing investment project at the mill which will see the introduction of more modern technology and a reduction of production capacity resulting in fewer people being needed.
Around 95 people will continue to be employed at Seikku sawmill and the company is making an effort to relocate those made redundant to United’s other mills.
