A major milestone has been reached with delivery of the one millionth cubic metre of timber shipped to Jewson from its main supplier, Stora Enso.
In a ceremony to mark the occasion, Brian Stead, Jewson commercial director, commended employee Jimmy Lenham who is retiring after 50 years with the company, for handling five million linear metres of timber over his career.
Jewson imports approximately 300,000m3 of redwood and whitewood a year, much of which comes from Stora Enso.
