Jewson brought more than 100 of its key suppliers together for its annual Internal Build exhibition and bespoke supplier conference last week.

The event in Harrogate is in its third year and gives leading suppliers the chance to demonstrate their latest products to the more than 750 Jewson branch managers.

Jewson said it was crucial to strengthening the personal relationships that drive sales, however, the main aim this year was to find ways of working together more effectively to tackle the challenging market conditions in 2010.

The exhibition included zones for timber, heavy and light building materials, joinery, kitchen bathroom and plumbing and tool hire. Among the exhibitors were Pasquill Roof Trusses and International Decorative Surfaces.

The conference attracted more than 300 delegates.

Jewson marketing director Vincent Mialet said: “Whilst we believe that 2010 is set to be a better year than last, there is no doubt that the whole industry still faces challenging times. Bringing all our suppliers together in Harrogate enables us to develop strategies that will help both supplier and merchant emerge stronger and drives sales growth.”
