The prize was presented at the inaugural awards ceremony, designed to showcase excellence among suppliers to the UK housebuilding industry, at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham on June 20.
JELD-WEN developed its Loss Prevention Certification Board-certified fire-protected stair range by working with the British Woodworking Federation and the BRE. It undertook an extensive test programme.
JELD-WEN said the testing and certification was designed to demonstrate that the stairs will still function after a fire within the stair enclosure.
The company becomes a finalist for the Product of the Year at the Housebuilder Awards at the Tower Hotel, London on November 7.
