JELD-WEN has taken steps to make the specification of timber windows and external joinery products easier by producing a technical guide.
The Technical Guide to Timber Windows and External Joinery, which is the second version, contains in-depth information relating to joinery product specification to meet the requirements of Building Regulations and the Code for Sustainable Homes.
“The guide gives detailed information on specific requirements relating to acoustic performance and energy efficiency as well as details of glazing types that prevent solar gain and offer low maintenance,” said JELD-WEN product manager Tony Pell.
The 80-page guide also provides practical information on the correct method of installation for different types of timber window, as well as maintenance advice.
