JELD-WEN UK Ltd has launched its first environmentally-certified window.
The upgraded flagship Hi-Profile Combi window is certified to the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC). Previously, the only JELD-WEN products to be independently certified as using timber from sustainable forests were doors certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
JELD-WEN says the public sector is increasingly demanding certified products but the window is also aimed at high-specification private developments.
Hi-Profile Combi windows also now feature clear, knot-free timber, which JELD-WEN says is designed to increase strength, stability and reliability. They come with the option of BS 7950 Enhanced Security and are compliant with Secured by Design – the police preferred specification scheme.
