JD Trading (UK) Ltd (JDT) has secured BM TRADA chain of custody certification for its range of moulded doors.

The Norfolk-based joinery distribution company will now be able to carry the Forest Stewardship Council and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes logos on the stock, which accounts for around 15-20% of its door sales according to general manager Ann Brown.

“As suppliers to local, as well as regional and national housebuilders and contractors, we are responding to our customers’ requirements as well as underpinning our own environmental objectives,” said company founder Peter Spence.

“Our customers are, like us, aware of their responsibilities to the environment and in achieving this certification we are anticipating and meeting their need to source a range of doors manufactured using timber-based products from sustainable and renewable sources.”

Mr Spence added that JDT will be looking to add more of its stock, which extends to around 7,000 doors, to the chain of custody approval.
