Joinery manufacturer JDS Plaswood has closed after going into administration, with the loss of 75 jobs.

The Watton-based firm went into administration along with a number of others firms within JDS Group Ltd, including Yellowlake Ltd, JDS Architectural Panels Ltd and Joinery Display Systems Ltd.

Breckland Council said that the company had struggled in the face of increased competition and changing economic conditions, adding that it was “very disappointed” by the closure.

Plaswood was purchased by JDS in 2006, which it said was part of a “five-year strategic development programme”.
