A cantilever rack supported shed has allowed James Donaldson & Sons Timber Ltd to carry out an expansion of its operations and provide extra storage space for its timber products.
The Canti-Clad shed was installed at Donaldson’s sawmilling, manufacturing and distribution facility at Leven in Fife, offering the company 1,932m² of additional storage for stocks of complete and broken bulk packs.
Hi-Store Ltd, the timber storage specialist which supplied the shed, said the 46x42m Chinese-made structure had provided the ideal solution for Donaldson’s as it combined racking and covered storage space.
Hi-Store said the installation was an alternative to a standard storage building.
“In addition, the advantage of choosing Canti-Clad is that the total cost is the same as that of the shed, so effectively Donaldson’s got their racking free of charge,” the company said.
“The structure is already proving its worth and we have plans to install more of these Canti-Clad sheds as our business expands,” said Donaldson’s managing director Iain Torrance.
Donaldson’s recently announced that it was on course to make £100m in sales, driven by growing demand for its timber products.
