Jämtlamell of Sweden can now offer certified products to the UK market after achieving Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certification for its range of sawn and planed timber.
The company, whose redwood and whitewood products are available in the UK through SCA Timber Supply, went down the FSC route to capitalise on the growing market in Britain for certified sustainable timber.
Stephen King, SCA Timber Supply’s sales director, said: “With the European Union‘s focus on sustainable timber sourcing, assuring each element of the supply chain will become part of both timber marketing practice and normal commercial risk management.”
Jämtlamell exports standard sawn and value-added window, door moulding, flooring and panel products to the UK through its marketing agreement with SCA Timber Supply.
