The Institute of Wood Science (IWSc) will hold its annual meeting in Cardiff this year.

Rebranded as a convention rather than a conference, the event will take place on October 10-11. Speakers from the world of architecture and design will discuss the theme ‘How does wood help to sustain the built environment’.

IWSC director David Woodbridge said this year’s convention will target not just those in the timber industry, research and academia but specifiers and users too.

He added: ‘With technological advancement rapidly improving the scope and application of timber and wood products, this year’s annual convention will have a broad appeal to manufacturers, engineers, architects and designers.’
