Timber frame fabrication specialist ITW Alpine, tools and fasteners firm Paslode/Duo-Fast Industry and construction software specialist hsbCAD are to be brought under one company to provide a one-stop-shop for the building components market.
ITW Industry will be launched on December 1, combining the technical expertise of the three firms, plus two others, to give the UK market a single point of reference for its concept to production needs, according to Paul Walsh, head of sales and marketing at ITW Industry.
This, said Mr Walsh, would help ITW strengthen its foothold in the European market, which he describes as “fragmented”.
“ITW wants to be the market leader and a major player across Europe,” he said.
”There are efficiency benefits to be had from this set-up. It will allow data and information to be passed back and forth seamlessly. Being fully integrated has big benefits.”
Mr Walsh added each component brand will maintain its independence under the new structure, as ITW Industry looks to “maintain the years and years of technical expertise” built up by the companies.
