According to the Wood Marketing Federation (WMF), Woodspec – A Guide to Designing, Detailing and Specifying Timber in Ireland is the first book of its kind in Europe and is an “accessible and indispensable guide”.
“Those who design and build in timber do so safe in the knowledge that what they use will be replaced given the renewable nature of wood,” said WMF chairman Gerard Murphy.
“Wood needs a different creative approach to other building materials and Woodspec provides the necessary information to use wood practically and innovatively.”
Woodspec contains five core technical sections addressing design guidance, detailed drawings and timber and building specifications, as well as good practice principles and case studies showcasing the use of timber design in Ireland.
