Loggers in China forced out of business by a 1998 ban on felling will benefit from millions of dollars in grants and loans aimed at developing the countries forestry and timber sectors .
The incoming cash includes a US$93.9m World Bank loan, a European Commission grant of US$15m and a US$16m grant from the Global Environment Facility.
The funding will pay for the development of new timber plantations and forest management vocational training for communities reliant on forest resources in Hunan, Sichuan and Hainan.
