A Canadian First Nation tribe says it is evicting Interfor from its land because the company is not addressing its concerns.

The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation said it was ignored by both the province and Interfor when it voted against a 10-year forest development plan in the 260,000ha Clayoquot Sound. The company also wanted to reassess cultural values in research cutblocks.

Interfor’s annual harvest in the area is about 48ha, of which 11% is in the Tla-o-qui-aht territory.
