To highlight the business benefits of off-site and modern construction methods, an “Off -Site Village” will feature for the first time at next year’s Interbuild.

The dedicated area will showcase the best in components, assemblies, framing systems and modular units and there will also be an outside area for the display of larger constructions and to demonstrate site-based construction processes. Exhibits will be included from the timber, steel, concrete and block sectors.

Interbuild has teamed up with Manufacturing the Future – a collaboration between the government-backed Rethinking Construction organisation and Mtech Group, the UK’s leading specialist consultancy in off-site construction – to bring the initiative to the show.

The organisers said: “Increasingly, clients, consultants and contractors are aware of the significant benefits in terms of predictability, cost control and quality to be gained by optimising the use of off-site manufactured components, systems and modules within their construction projects.

“The government, as the industry’s single most important client, is showing the way through its support for the use of off-site methods to deliver quality solutions for social housing, school building, health facilities, infrastructure and the drive for sustainable communities.”
