The recent cancellation of the Interbuild building production showcase gives new show Timber Expo “clear space” in the exhibition calendar, according to TRADA.

TRADA marketing manager Rupert Scott said EMAP’s decision to not hold Interbuild at Birmingham NEC this year had come as no surprise.

“We believe that people are looking for more from shows these days; combining an exhibition with quality conference/seminars, other methods of learning, competition awards, industry events and meetings,” said Mr Scott.

“We also think that there is a definite interest in more focused exhibitions. We clearly hope that Timber Expo fits this requirement.”

Timber Expo, which will run at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on September 27-28, has been created by TRADA.

EMAP said it cancelled Interbuild, which has suffered falling exhibitor and visitor numbers in recent years, because it “could not guarantee the scale or scope of event that customers demand and expect”.
