An agreement has been signed between Indonesia’s Ministry of Forestry and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) which will provide reliable data on timber production and exports.
For the next five years BPS will collect, compile and process data and make it available to both the government and the public.
The Ministry of Forestry hopes the project will help it make decisions, particularly with regard to illegal logging.
