Forestry laws are to remain strictly in place in Bihar, India as the forest and environment minister says any relaxation benefiting sawmillers and stone crushers would further erode natural resources.
Forest cover in Bihar currently stands at nearly 7% but it is planned to increase this to 20% in the next five years.
