The Indian government has set up a special task force to deal with timber poachers in the Kerala Forest.
The Kerala Forest Department will recruit a 300-strong force, equipped with guns, cellphones and radios, to protect the forest against organised ‘mafia’ gangs who are plundering timber resources.
