There are just a few places left for the Timber Research and Development Association’s (TRADA) In Touch With Timber conference on May 10 which is aiming to attract 300 delegates.
Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud will be key speaker at the event at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster.
The programme will include case studies, including one on the 2004 Wood Awards Winner, the refectory at Norwich Cathedral given by Hopkins Architects director Mike Taylor.
During the afternoon delegates may attend three of six seminars. The subjects are: contemporary timber buildings by Patrick Hislop RIBA, senior consultant architect, TRADA Technology; Is offsite right? by Paul Newman, head of timber technology, TRADA Technology; Taller, warmer, quieter – technical update on timber frame, by Huel Twist, timber frame consultant, TRADA Technology; Think wood, overcoming client concerns, by Gerry McCaughey, chief executive, Century Homes; Eurocode 5 – the new design code, Arnold Page, senior engineer, TRADA Technology; Specifying timber from sustainable sources, Mike Packer, group environmental manager, Timbmet Silverman.
Timber products, flooring, timber preservation, timber related software, timber engineering hardware, engineered wood products and timber frame construction will be exhibited throughout the day.
