The Port of Immingham has had its first visit from Forest Lines’ mv Atlantic Forest, a 40,881dwt barge carrier.

The ship came into the Associated British Ports’ Humber International Terminal which opened in June 2000.

Prior to the terminal being built, the port was unable to accommodate the ship which is a ‘mother vessel’ capable of carrying 82 barges each able to hold 385 tonnes of cargo.

Cargoes discharged from the ship, which operates between Forest Lines’ Rotterdam base and New Orleans, included timber, paper and woodpulp.
